How We Got Started
This is how my life unfolded.
In 1996, my mother was diagnosed with a goiter (thyroid nodule) and had surgery to remove it, along with ¾'s of her thyroid. She broke out with a 1” thick rash across her entire body, making her totally miserable. One day at 10:30 at night she frantically said to me, “isn’t there something in your natural stuff that can help?”. At that point, I was young and dabbling a little bit in essential oils, this was before it became as widespread as it is today. I looked in my books and found Tea Tree oil, so I grabbed the only carrier oil I had in the house, which was vegetable oil, mixed it up, and put it on her. The next day, half the rash was gone. At that time, she encouraged me to find a school related to that field because she said I had a gift.
After this event, I started my search.
During that time, I was working on my 5th year at a garden center, when a coworker handed me a flyer for the School of Natural Medicine in Boulder, Colorado. I felt that this was truly a gift from God and therefore I didn’t need to look any further. Thus, I started my 12 year education journey to become a traditional Naturopath.
While I was conducting my studies I 1988, I was working at Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage for 10 ½ years. During that time, my wonderful family helped and supported me in starting my Certified Organic farm, Earth Pharmaceuticals.
In 2000, I received my first certification of many to come, as a Reiki Master teacher.
In 2001, as a part of my studies, I went to India to experience the naturopathic treatments myself, so I could understand what a patient must go through to achieve healing. After India, I achieved my master herbalist diploma in 2001 and became the instructor for the master herbalist course for the school of natural medicine, where I did this for over 10 years. In 2002, I received my Clinical Aromatherapist certificate from Dr. Raphael D'Angelo MD. In 2008, I graduated with multiple diplomas/certificates, including: a Flower Essence Practitioners certificate, Naturopath Diploma, and Master Iridologist diploma.
I expanded my education further in 2017 and got a PhD in Natural Medicine through Quantum University. Currently, I run 3 businesses, a licensed herbal pharmacy and organic farm (Earth Pharmaceuticals), a holistic health practice (Body Windows), and manufacture natural body care products (Natur).
